Travel Vaccinations for Malaysia
From Kuala Lumpur’s skyline and Penang’s street food to Borneo’s rainforests and beaches in Langkawi, Malaysia offers a huge range of experiences – but also increased exposure to food-, water- and mosquito-borne infections compared with the UK.
Our Travel Health Clinics in Doncaster (DN5) and Newark (NG24) provide quick, convenient private travel vaccinations for Malaysia, with appointments often available the same week – sometimes the same day.
📍 Available at both locations:
• Holden’s Chemist Scawsby – Doncaster (DN5)
• Holden’s Chemist Express Newark (NG24)
🩺 Recommended Vaccines for Travel to Malaysia
Recommended vaccines depend on your itinerary and trip length, but commonly include:
- Hepatitis A – strongly recommended for most travellers (food & water protection).
- Typhoid – important if you’ll be eating local / street food or staying with family.
- DTP Booster – ensures tetanus, diphtheria and polio protection is up to date.
- Hepatitis B – for longer trips, medical tourism, volunteering, or higher exposure.
- Japanese Encephalitis – considered for rural stays, rice fields, or extended trips in affected areas.
- Rabies – for trekking, cycling, animal contact, or remote travel where medical access is limited.
We’ll also review whether you need malaria tablets, depending on which parts of Malaysia you’re visiting.
