🇰🇪 Travel Vaccinations for Kenya — Stay Protected on Safari and Beyond

Travelling to Kenya? Whether you’re heading on safari, relaxing on the coast in Mombasa, or visiting family in Nairobi, it’s important to protect yourself against preventable illnesses before you go.

At Holden’s Travel Clinics in Doncaster (DN5) and Newark (NG24), we provide all the essential Kenya travel vaccinations with expert, pharmacist-led advice and same-day appointments — helping you travel safely and confidently.

💉 Recommended Vaccines for Kenya

The following vaccinations are recommended for most travellers visiting Kenya:

  • Yellow Fever – proof of vaccination may be required for entry; essential if travelling to or from Yellow-Fever-risk regions.
  • Hepatitis A – protects against food and water-borne infection.
  • Typhoid – important if you’ll be eating at local markets, roadside cafés, or staying with family.
  • DTP booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio) – make sure your 10-year booster is up to date.
  • Rabies – strongly advised for safari travellers, rural stays, cyclists, and anyone at risk of animal bites (dogs, bats, monkeys).
  • Cholera – consider for humanitarian work, rural travel, or areas with limited sanitation or recent outbreaks.

💡 Some travellers may also benefit from Hepatitis B vaccination — especially for long stays, medical placements, or close contact with local communities.

🌍 Travel Health Advice for Kenya

  • Malaria: risk is present in many parts of Kenya. Our clinics can advise on and supply suitable antimalarial tablets for your route.
  • Mosquito bites: use 50% DEET repellent, wear long sleeves after dusk, and sleep under nets where possible.
  • Food & water safety: drink bottled or filtered water, avoid ice, and be cautious with salads and undercooked food.
  • Sun & heat exposure: the equatorial sun is intense — use high-factor sunscreen, seek shade, and stay well hydrated.

✈️ When to Book Your Travel Vaccines

Ideally, book your Kenya travel vaccines 4–6 weeks before departure so all courses can be completed in time.
However, both clinics also offer express appointments for last-minute travellers.

Our Doncaster and Newark travel clinics provide fast, convenient access to all the key vaccines for Kenya — including Yellow Fever, Rabies, Hepatitis A and Typhoid.
